Well March has been super busy with a podium potential pathway aka P3 training camp followed by the last excel training camp. First up was the p3 camp and I decided to go up on the Friday and slot in a sneaky little qualifier at Solihul and then stay on for the p3 camp. This didn’t by any means feel like my best test but with a score over 70% which included a few 9’s I was delighted I had decided to go. Those lovely summer qualifier points have now gained us a space at the gold semi-finals in June. Then it was my p3 interview camp and wow how lucky am I to get two trainers and help and advise from the best in the business. The camp consisted of vet’s physios human and equine. Farriers trainers and sports psychologists. It was a great camp with so much imput and it has made me want it even more just need to wait until April to see if I am selected.
The following week was the last excel camp and I took the opportunity to give Pumpkin a rest and take baby Rodney out for his first away from home alone trip. When we arrived, he was all alone and apart from a few calls he settled well and eat his body weight in hay. He was so well behaved, and he didn’t disgrace himself showing he has good para pony potential. This was our first lesson together and in front of the head of world class no pressure Rodney. We have come away with some great feedback and things to work on to start our journey together in the right direction.
Whilst at the camp I got an email from British dressage to say me and Pumpkin have been selected to represent GB in Belgium at Waregem well we are so excited and it’s such an honour to be able to go. Preparations have now started to turn this selection into a reality as there is so much to plan and I can confirm my entry is now in. Super excited for the month ahead
